"Twilight 2 - New Moon" by Stephenie Meyer
Although disappointed by 'Twilight', I was still attracted by the (his)stories of Cullens family so I borrowed New Moon before the movie comes out. Luckily this one is better than the 1st episode, and also perhaps because I'm used to the style, I know where to skip or focus. Therefore, this turned out to be quite happy reading experience. The main plot is still naive, especially the part in Italy. The love between Bella and Edward in this book reminds me of some similar situation read else where... can't believe it... in "Dream of Red Mansion". Some conversation between Dai Yu and Bao Yu gave me the impression that although they love each other, they still keep hurting and testing each other. Back to Bella. I still don't think such commitment is possible for a 19-year old. Although I had similar 'commitment' when I was 18-19, everything faded away before I was 20. Now 10 years later, I remember Oct 15 only because I need to sell my BAC position that day before its ER the following morning. Young heart changes as time flies by. Therefore, Bella's persistent and stubborn wish to become a vampire as early as possible sounds really ridiculous to me. (Now I'm reading 'Eclipse' and Rosalie gave a good reason for staying human: having babies. I completely understand that nothing would be more joyful and rewarding than raising my baby by myself. )
